UPDATE: A beloved Christmas tree has been stolen from the Bundgeam Community Hall, leaving a community in shock just weeks before the festive season. The incident, confirmed by hall committee member Lindy Hayman, has sparked an urgent appeal for the tree’s return.

On November 22, 2025, four small Christmas trees, donated by Laurel Nursery, were meant to spread holiday cheer during the hall’s Christmas Party. However, after the trees failed to sell, they were left for the community to enjoy. “Now, we’re down to three,” Hayman lamented, expressing her heartbreak over the theft. “I certainly have a Christmas tree-shaped hole in my heart right now.”

The stolen tree was intended for a memorial garden at the Bundgeam Community Hall, honoring families who have contributed to the community. “I had made the decision to plant them as part of that garden,” Hayman explained, emphasizing the emotional significance of the trees.

The community’s frustration is palpable. “I’m saddened that someone has felt the need to steal our tree,” Hayman said. “At the same time, I feel very sorry for the person who thinks this is okay.”

The hall committee is now calling for the return of the Christmas tree, urging the thief to bring it back “with no questions asked.” Hayman added, “If not returned, I hope it grows well, giving those who took it many Merry Christmases.”

As the community rallies together, the incident highlights the spirit of the season and the importance of goodwill. If you have any information about the theft or the location of the tree, please contact the Bundgeam Community Hall immediately.

This story is developing, and updates will follow as the community seeks to restore the festive spirit ahead of Christmas.
