UPDATE: Authorities are urgently seeking public assistance as they investigate a suspicious boat fire in Manly, Brisbane. Just after 3:00 AM on September 28, two males allegedly broke into a van at a marina on Royal Esplanade before walking down a floating dock where boats were moored. The fire was reported shortly after 3:45 AM, with emergency services responding quickly. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the suspects fled the scene before police arrived.

Police believe one suspect may have unlawfully entered another boat at the marina just hours earlier, around 4:30 AM on September 27. They are now appealing for anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area to come forward.

The first suspect is described as Caucasian, with a tattoo on his right calf, last seen wearing a dark beanie with a pompom, a dark long-sleeved shirt, slides, a dark backpack, and light-colored shorts. The second male was reportedly seen in a green hoodie, dark pants, slides, and a dark cap. Investigations are ongoing as police work to identify these individuals.

This incident coincides with a significant time for Brisbane, as more than 42,000 students prepare for their final exams starting soon. The most taken exam, English, will be attempted by nearly 28,000 students, marking a critical moment in their academic journey.

Additionally, Independent MP Dai Le criticized the federal opposition for what she calls “trading tirades,” amid internal party conflicts, including the potential defection of former Nationals MP Barnaby Joyce. Le emphasized the need for a strong opposition, highlighting the challenges facing Australian politics today.

As Brisbane weather heats up, with temperatures expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius this weekend, the community is reminded of the importance of staying safe and aware amidst ongoing developments.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the boat fire or the suspects to contact the Queensland Police immediately. Your assistance could be vital in bringing those responsible to justice.
