UPDATE: A driver crashed into a fence and fled the scene after failing to stop for police in Orange last night. At approximately 10:15 PM on November 7, 2023, Orange Highway Patrol officers attempted to pull over a Toyota ute on Orchard Grove Road, but the driver refused to comply.

The ute continued down the road, ultimately crashing through a fence and colliding with a light post. Authorities later discovered the vehicle abandoned on the same street, raising concerns about the driver’s safety.

Just moments later, police from the Central West Police District located a 54-year-old man believed to be the driver on Davidson Crescent. He was arrested and brought to the Orange Police Station, where he received treatment from NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries sustained during the crash.

Initially, it seemed the man would face charges; however, he has since been released without charge. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
