UPDATE: A vibrant gathering of women in pink converged at the Windsor RSL on October 30, 2023, for the annual Pink Ribbon Brunch, raising crucial funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Hosted by Deputy Mayor Sarah McMahon, the event emphasized community support and awareness in the fight against breast cancer.

The brunch, marked by beautiful floral arrangements and a stunning donut display, welcomed attendees with a festive atmosphere. Each woman received a thoughtful care package containing heart-shaped sunglasses and pink scrunchies, fostering an immediate sense of belonging.

“I am amazed at the effort put into this event,” said Ali Hilliard from the Hawkesbury Veteran and Family Hub. “It’s vital to connect with like-minded individuals while raising funds for such an important cause.”

Attendees enjoyed a meticulously curated high tea featuring a variety of pastries and savory bites, creating a culinary experience fit for royalty. The event also included exciting raffle prizes, including a surprise ticket for two to the Olivia Newton-John show and a bottle of premium Xanadu wine from Margaret River.

Reflecting on the day’s significance, Deputy Mayor Sarah McMahon expressed gratitude to Windsor RSL for hosting. “Each one of us has been impacted by cancer in some way. Coming together to raise funds and connect is essential,” she stated.

Tickets were priced at a mere $10, with all proceeds going directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Beyond fundraising, the brunch served as a platform for women to share stories and foster hope, exemplifying the event’s core mission.

As the morning concluded, attendees left with full hearts and newfound friendships. Donations are still being accepted via the Windsor RSL’s community page, encouraging continued support for breast cancer research.

The community is urged to contribute, as every dollar can make a significant difference in the fight against breast cancer. Join the movement and help build a brighter future for those affected. Together, we can create change—one cup of tea at a time.
