UPDATE: A teenage boy is in critical condition after a serious fall at Murrah Beach on the Far South Coast of New South Wales. At approximately 6 PM on November 10, 2023, emergency services were dispatched following reports of an injured individual who had fallen on rocks.
Upon arrival, a multi-agency response team, including NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, RFS, and VRA crews, quickly assessed the situation. The boy was located at Bunga Beach, situated between Barragga Bay and Wapengo. According to a spokesperson from NSW Ambulance, the patient suffered a head injury after falling from standing height and experienced multiple seizures.
Given the challenging terrain, authorities determined that the safest course of action was to airlift the patient. A medical team from the Toll Rescue helicopter, consisting of a critical care paramedic and a doctor, was winched down to provide immediate medical attention.
The boy was subsequently airlifted and transported to Canberra Hospital for further treatment. The incident highlights the critical role of emergency services in ensuring swift and effective responses in life-threatening situations.
