A man has died after falling off the edge of the Grand Canyon.
BREAKING: A tragic accident at the Grand Canyon has resulted in the death of a 65-year-old man who slipped and fell from the edge of Guano Point on November 6. The incident occurred around 2 PM, prompting immediate action from local authorities.
Witnesses report the man lost his footing and fell over 40 meters down onto a scree pile. The Mohave County Search and Rescue office confirmed they received a distress call to assist the Hualapai Nation in recovering the body shortly after the fall.
According to the rescue team, “Search and Rescue responded and located him about 130 feet (40 meters) down on a scree pile.” Technical rope technicians were deployed to establish a lowering and raising system to recover the victim and transport him to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office.
