BREAKING NEWS: Plans have just been submitted for a major new development in Subiaco, proposing 236 high-rise apartments across three towers. This ambitious project, located at 2 Upham Street, is expected to reshape the local skyline and provide much-needed housing options.

The application, lodged by Rowe Group on behalf of Cedar Woods, includes a diverse mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments spread over buildings of 12, nine, and seven storeys. In addition to residential units, the complex will feature 155 square meters of ground floor commercial space, enhancing the area’s economic vitality.

The development will also cater to residents’ needs with a residential swimming pool and ample parking facilities, including 327 on-site parking bays, 187 bicycle bays, and 24 on-street public parking bays. This project signifies a significant investment in the community, promising to create a vibrant living environment.

The community comment period for the proposed high-rises is currently open and will remain so until December 21. Residents are encouraged to share their feedback through the Have Your Say WA website, making their voices heard in this pivotal planning process.

This development follows the success of Cedar Woods’ nearby Incontro development, which features townhouses and a seven-storey apartment block. That project is already under construction and is projected to open in mid-2027, having sold over 70 percent of its apartments before completion.

The introduction of these new apartments is crucial as Subiaco continues to grow and evolve. With housing demand on the rise, these developments aim to address the needs of current and future residents. As plans unfold, all eyes will be on the community’s response and the project’s potential impact on the local landscape.
