UPDATE: Police have confirmed they are questioning three individuals—two men and a woman—regarding the mysterious disappearance of 33-year-old Jayden Selfe, last seen in Attadale in May 2023. Authorities are intensifying their search efforts in the bushland of Wanneroo, where they believe Mr. Selfe’s body may have been disposed of.

The Homicide Squad has been actively investigating the case for over two weeks. Detectives have focused on a unit on Money Road in Attadale, where Mr. Selfe lived for several years. Since his disappearance, police have uncovered a “number of items” linked to him and the property, raising serious concerns about his welfare.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Leigh McKnight stated that forensic examinations and witness information suggest there is little hope Mr. Selfe is still alive. “The last confirmed contact with Mr. Selfe was in early to mid-May, around the same time we believe items were disposed of, including the possibility of Mr. Selfe’s body,” he said.

Police Minister Reece Whitby emphasized that law enforcement is deploying all available resources to investigate this troubling case. “We are throwing everything we can into investigating Mr. Selfe’s disappearance,” he stated, highlighting the urgency of the situation.

The investigation has focused on individuals known to Mr. Selfe, and while all persons—including potential associates—are being scrutinized, authorities do not believe there are links to organized crime. “It appears this situation is confined in nature, suggesting the individuals involved were known to him,” Detective McKnight added.

Mr. Selfe’s family remains devastated by his disappearance and is in close contact with police. The community is urged to assist in the investigation, as detectives are calling on anyone with information about Mr. Selfe’s whereabouts to come forward. Those with details can contact police at 131 444 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperswa.com.au.

As this investigation continues to develop, police are committed to bringing clarity to this heartbreaking situation. Anyone with insights or potential leads is strongly encouraged to reach out, as the search for Jayden Selfe intensifies.
