UPDATE: A groundbreaking initiative has just launched in Vietnam, aimed at equipping over 1,500 educators and students with essential skills in AI-driven financial data analysis. The Vantage Foundation, in partnership with the Banking Academy of Vietnam and more than 10 leading universities, is making waves in Hanoi with the “Financial Data Analysis and Decision-Making in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” program.
This ambitious program, taking place on March 12 and 14, 2026, has drawn interest from more than 3,000 students nationwide, highlighting an urgent need for advanced financial education as Vietnam’s financial sector rapidly shifts toward digital capabilities. The initiative combines in-person sessions at the Banking Academy’s Hanoi campus with virtual participation, ensuring broad accessibility.
During the event, participants explored cutting-edge AI applications in financial analysis, risk management, and strategic decision-making. Notable universities involved include the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, National Economics University, Vietnam National University – Hanoi, and Foreign Trade University. These institutions are vital in shaping Vietnam’s future financial professionals.
A significant highlight of the program was the Training-of-Trainers (ToT) session, which attracted over 250 professors eager to enhance their AI-driven financial analytics capabilities. The session featured educators from as far as Can Tho University, who traveled more than 1,500 kilometers to participate, demonstrating the high demand for AI integration in curricula.
Industry experts provided critical insights into real-world AI applications. Ms. Truong Thi Minh Trang, Managing Director of Financial Information Services at FiinGroup, shared valuable knowledge about financial data analytics. Her firm, known for its strategic partnerships with global leaders like Nikkei Inc. and S&P Global, is at the forefront of Vietnam’s data and analytics landscape.
Participants also witnessed a live demonstration from Dr. Vu Xuan Tung, an AI Solution Architect at Goline Financial Technology JSC. This showcase of AI-enabled trading software offered firsthand experience of how technology is transforming modern financial markets.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Deputy Director of the Banking Academy of Vietnam, the need for finance professionals to interpret complex datasets is more critical than ever. “Artificial intelligence is no longer a future concept. It has already become a reality reshaping the structure of the global financial industry,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of integrating AI skills into the educational framework.
The collaboration between the Vantage Foundation and the Banking Academy underscores a collective commitment to advancing financial education in Vietnam, aligning with the country’s National Digital Transformation Strategy. “As we prepare our students for the future, it’s essential they develop the technological competencies necessary for success in the evolving financial landscape,” Dr. Phuong added.
During the opening session for students on March 14, Mr. Adam Siew, Vice President of Business Development at Vantage Foundation, described AI’s transformative power in finance. “Processes that once required weeks of analysis can now be completed in seconds,” he noted, highlighting the urgent need for responsible human judgment in data interpretation.
As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the financial industry, this program aims to create a robust pipeline of data-literate professionals ready to tackle complex global market challenges. The initiative concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony, celebrating the commitment of these future leaders to responsible finance education.
