UPDATE: A woman has been charged with high range drink driving after crashing her vehicle with three young children inside during a chaotic incident on Christmas Day. The crash occurred around 7:30 PM on Ninth Ave, Llandilo, in Sydney’s west.

Authorities rushed to the scene, where they assessed the three children, aged 7, 10, and 15. Fortunately, all were found to be uninjured. The driver, a 34-year-old woman, was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result, prompting her immediate arrest.

Following her arrest, the woman was taken to Penrith Police Station for further testing. A subsequent breath analysis revealed an alarming blood alcohol concentration of 0.150, far exceeding the legal limit of 0.05 in New South Wales.

The woman faces serious charges for high range drink driving and has been granted conditional bail. She is scheduled to appear in Penrith Local Court on January 20. Her driving privileges have been suspended pending the outcome of the case.

High range drink driving is classified as a severe offence in New South Wales, carrying potential penalties including a fine of up to $3,300 for first-time offenders, an 18-month prison term, and an automatic three-year disqualification from driving.

This incident raises significant concerns about road safety and the risks of impaired driving, especially during holiday periods when families are out celebrating. Authorities continue to urge the public to prioritize safety and responsible behavior on the roads.
