UPDATE: A collective of talented young musicians is set to return to the stage for the much-anticipated second annual The Sound of Réverie charity concert on November 22, 2024. The event, which runs from 7 PM to 9 PM, will take place at Lugarno Anglican Church, located at 3A Old Forest Rd, Lugarno.

This year’s concert promises to be even bigger and better than its inaugural event, as it supports The Smith Family, aiming to provide vital assistance to disadvantaged children across Australia. The lineup features a stellar array of Sydney’s finest emerging musicians, including performers with diplomas and scholarships from prestigious institutions.

The Chen siblings—Freda, Matthew, Isaac, and Ethan—are leading this initiative, alongside friends Mandy Li, Essie Li, Eunice Li, and Gordon Guo. They have gathered an expanded cast of outstanding students from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, including Arum Lu (violin), Holly Williams (saxophone), and Matthew Dobell-Brown (jazz piano).

Ethan Chen expressed his excitement, stating,

“I loved playing in last year’s concert. It’s great to see how music can bring together not only my friends but also help kids all over Australia.”

This emotional connection underscores the concert’s mission to unite talent while making a difference.

The evening will showcase a rich tapestry of musical styles, blending classical and romantic works with traditional Chinese and contemporary pieces. The diverse instrumentation, including strings, winds, piano, guzheng, and voice, will further enhance the concert experience.

What began as a small community effort in 2024 has quickly evolved into a beloved annual tradition, bringing together young performers and their friends to create a positive impact for charity. Organizers hope this year’s concert will reach even more children in need, expanding its reach and influence in the community.

With the date fast approaching, the urgency to support this charitable endeavor has never been greater. Mark your calendars for November 22, and join the movement that celebrates music and community spirit while aiding those who need it most.

Stay tuned for more updates as the concert date approaches!
