Moe’s Southwest Grill, a fast-casual dining chain based in Atlanta, is set to open a new location in Cannon Beach, Mesa, Arizona. Known for its vibrant burritos and complimentary chips and salsa, the restaurant’s arrival marks a continuation of its expansion within the state. The upcoming outlet will be part of a wave of new dining and entertainment options at Cannon Beach, a lifestyle development that is rapidly evolving into a popular destination for both locals and visitors.
The new Moe’s is expected to operate under a multi-location franchise agreement led by Arizona-based father and son duo, Tony and Namit Mangat. This partnership aims to re-establish the brand’s presence in Arizona after closing several locations in the 2010s. Although an official opening date for the Cannon Beach Moe’s has yet to be announced, excitement is building within the community.
Cannon Beach is already home to a variety of eateries and attractions, including Moku Hawaiian Grill and Hooligan’s Coffee House. Additionally, over 20 new tenants are slated to open in the area throughout 2025, further enhancing its status as a dining and entertainment hub. The mixed-use development integrates action sports and a curated food scene, making it a sought-after destination for families and adventure-seekers alike.
The Mangat family has begun their expansion with the first Moe’s Southwest Grill location at Pebble Creek Marketplace in Goodyear, which opened its doors earlier this year. On May 16, 2023, the second Arizona location officially opened in Peoria, located at Lake Pleasant Crossing Shopping Center. Their goal is to launch a total of ten Moe’s restaurants across the state, with potential future sites in locations such as Mesa, Buckeye, Glendale, and Tempe.
In collaboration with GoTo Foods, the parent company of Moe’s and other popular brands, the Mangats bring a wealth of experience in commercial real estate, construction, and logistics to this venture. Each new Moe’s will feature a customizable menu including burritos, bowls, quesadillas, stacks, and tacos, all complemented by the brand’s signature welcoming atmosphere encapsulated in the phrase, “Welcome to Moe’s!”
As Moe’s continues to establish itself in Arizona, its new location in Cannon Beach is anticipated to significantly boost the area’s appeal as a vibrant center for food and entertainment.
