Hayley Williams, the lead vocalist of Paramore, has released her third solo album titled Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, with the excitement surrounding the project indicating that this is just the beginning. The album was first hinted at through a cryptic website, where fans could access 17 tracks using a code from her hair dye brand, Good Dye Young. Within a day, however, the songs became unavailable, igniting a surge of anticipation and speculation among her fanbase.
As of now, the album is available on streaming platforms with a total of 18 tracks, including a recently added song titled Parachute. Notably, the release includes a handwritten tracklist shared on Instagram, revealing that two additional tracks are planned, indicating the album’s evolving nature. This latest work marks a significant shift for Williams, as it is her first solo venture since parting ways with Atlantic Records.
Production and Collaboration Details
Produced by Daniel James, who also worked on her previous solo album, FLOWERS for VASES / descansos, the new album features contributions from notable artists, including Brian Robert Jones, Joey Howard, and Jim-E Stack. Earlier this month, two singles were released: the title track and Glum, both accompanied by visually engaging music videos. The video for Glum was co-directed by Zac Farro, a fellow member of Paramore, alongside AJ Gibboney.
The sound of Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party is diverse, ranging from the haunting piano melodies in Parachute to the raw vulnerability expressed in Kill Me. This release signifies a bold new chapter for Williams as she embraces independent music production.
Future Collaborations and Recent Projects
In addition to her solo work, Williams has recently collaborated with the hardcore rock band Turnstile on the track Seein’ Stars, as well as with singer-songwriter Moses Sumney on the sultry song I Like It I Like It. Furthermore, she has teamed up with music icon David Byrne on his forthcoming solo album, Who Is the Sky?, marking his first release in seven years. Williams features on the track What Is the Reason For It?, which is part of Byrne’s anticipated collection set to be released in September 2023.
Williams has made notable contributions to the music scene, including her cover of Burning Down The House for a tribute album dedicated to Talking Heads. The artist’s ability to blend various influences while maintaining her unique voice continues to captivate audiences worldwide. With the promise of more music on the way, fans are eagerly waiting to see how Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party will evolve in the coming months.
