Families in the Goldfields region of Australia now have improved access to essential healthcare services with the opening of Mason’s House, a new paediatric therapy centre in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. This facility is operated by Full Circle Therapies Inc, a not-for-profit organisation that specializes in providing therapy services for children, particularly those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The project received significant support from the State Government, which allocated $2.8 million for its establishment.
Mason’s House features a range of dedicated spaces designed to cater to the specific needs of children and their families. This includes multi-functional therapy rooms, a sensory and acoustic room tailored for specialized therapy, and family-friendly outdoor spaces that enhance the therapy experience. The centre aims to foster collaboration among healthcare professionals and improve accessibility for families seeking therapy services.
According to Health Minister Meredith Hammat, the opening of Mason’s House marks a crucial investment in the health and well-being of children and families in the Goldfields. Hammat emphasized the importance of having high-quality paediatric allied health services available closer to home, stating, “This new, purpose-built facility ensures families can access high-quality paediatric allied health services closer to home, reducing the stress and cost associated with travelling long distances for care.”
The establishment of Mason’s House is also seen as a significant step forward in enhancing early intervention services for children in the region. Many families previously faced challenges in accessing therapy services, often requiring long travel to reach care providers. With the new centre, these families can now receive individualized therapy programs that are tailored to meet their children’s specific abilities and needs.
The project is named in honor of the first child supported by Full Circle Therapies nearly 15 years ago. Goldfields-Esperance Minister David Michael remarked on this tribute, highlighting the commitment of the government to support regional families. He stated, “The Full Circle Therapies project represents a commitment by our government to support regional families with much-needed local therapy services.”
Local Member of Parliament, Ali Kent, expressed pride in delivering this important commitment on behalf of the Cook Labor Government. Kent reaffirmed the significance of the new centre, saying, “This investment will ensure Goldfields families can access the services they need, without the added burden of travelling long distances.”
Since its inception in 2010, Full Circle Therapies Inc has focused on helping children with special needs access vital therapies and allied health services. The new Mason’s House facility is poised to strengthen the sustainability of these services in the Goldfields, ensuring that families can receive essential care in their local community.
Overall, the opening of Mason’s House is a pivotal development for the Goldfields region, promising to enhance access to critical health services for children and their families, and reaffirming the commitment to community welfare and support.
