The Bugatti FKP Hommage has made its debut as a one-off vehicle from the company’s exclusive Solitare bespoke commission division. Named in honor of Ferdinand Karl Piëch, the former CEO of the Volkswagen Group and a pivotal figure in the creation of the original Veyron, this exceptional hypercar melds advanced engineering with a classic design aesthetic.

While the FKP Hommage might visually resemble the original Bugatti Veyron, produced between 2005 and 2015, it utilizes what Bugatti describes as “the highest evolution” of the W16 platform. Essentially, this means the vehicle is based on the Chiron but has been extensively reimagined to echo the Veyron’s iconic styling elements. According to Bugatti, the exterior of the FKP represents “a subtle yet significant evolution” of the original design.

Design Features and Specifications

The front end of the FKP features a more three-dimensional appearance, with the signature horseshoe grille protruding more prominently and seamlessly integrating with the overall body. The rear of the car is equipped with classic afterburner-style tail-lights, and the stance has been widened for a more aggressive look.

The two-tone paint job is meticulously crafted, featuring a red-tinted clear coat over a silver base for the red sections, while the black areas showcase exposed carbon fiber combined with a 10 percent black pigment in the clear coat. This attention to detail extends to the headlights, which are smaller than those on previous models, allowing for larger air intakes necessary to accommodate the more powerful engine.

Under the hood, the FKP Hommage houses an 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine derived from the Chiron Super Sport. This powerhouse generates an impressive 1,176 kW (or 1,600 metric horsepower) and 1,600 Nm of torque, a substantial upgrade from the original Veyron’s output of 736 kW (1,001 metric horsepower) and 1,250 Nm. The vehicle rides on Michelin tyres, with 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch rims at the rear.

Exclusive Interior and Price Tag

The interior of the FKP Hommage is distinct, featuring a bespoke steering wheel inspired by the original Veyron. The dashboard boasts a unique centre console and centre tunnel, both machined from solid blocks of aluminium. Upholstery includes fabric woven in Paris, adding a touch of luxury.

A highlight of the dashboard is the 41mm Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon clock, which features a self-winding mechanism that rotates on a diagonal axis multiple times per hour, independent of the vehicle’s power system.

As for the price, a Bugatti spokesperson confirmed that the FKP Hommage will cost its owner over €10 million (approximately A$17 million). Before it finds a home in its owner’s garage, the FKP Hommage will be showcased at the Retromobile Paris exhibition from January 29 to February 1, providing enthusiasts a rare glimpse of this extraordinary blend of heritage and innovation.

This exclusive vehicle exemplifies Bugatti’s commitment to craftsmanship, performance, and unique design, ensuring its place as a memorable chapter in the brand’s storied legacy.
